Former SCAS Pro Futura Fellow Sara Danius to Become Permanent Secretary of the Swedish Academy

On 20 December 2014, it was announced that Sara Danius, Professor of Literature at Stockholm University and
a former SCAS Pro Futura Scientia Fellow, will succeed Peter Englund as Permanent Secretary of the Swedish
Academy as of 1 June, 2015. She will be the first woman ever holding this office. Danius was elected Member
of the Swedish Academy in 2013 and holds Chair no. 7.

Sara Danius was admitted to the Pro Futura Scientia Programme in 1999 and was in residence at the Collegium
during the academic year 2004-05.
